Relevant, or irrelevant, external factors in panic buying

In view of panic buying prevalence across countries during the COVID 19 pandemic, this study explores external factors that may influence consumer engagement or disengagement with behaviour and how they are related. Two studies were undertaken to achieve research aim. The first was explore these through a scale development processes. Three revealed including (1) intervention support from government combat manage (2) businesses prevent stockpiling buying, (3) different categories social groups, namely, family relatives, peers friends, acquaintance non-acquainted social-media group. second collected data five (Australia, India, China, Vietnam Indonesia) understand relationship between disengagement. rationale for country choices has been provided in manuscript. results show interventions influenced engagement, whereas groups did not. Implications findings highlighted relevant stakeholders.
